FIFTH GENERATION OF THE BIPS-BASERES
Project BIPS-BASERES – it is a Binary Independent Power System (BIPS) intended for effective transformation of renewable energy sources (RES) into electrical energy. Project’s essence of the BIPS BIPS-BASERES project's technologies are a technologies for creating of the BIPS which are working with RES and which are ensuring competitiveness to the centralized power systems (CPS). BIPS under fifth generation project's technologies: - guarantee a uninterrupted power supply to consumer - in automatic mode create a power balance into the grid ( in any time of BIPS operation there is a correspondence of power production to power consumption in BIPS) - create any power capacity for consumer needs by summation of the typical blocks and modules - has only one energy resource as RES. This RES is an energy of motion of air masses. Under this RES the consumer can simultaneously be ensured both electrical, and thermal energy from a single grid in the volume he would needed. Any known technical solutions that are designed to organize the independent (autonomous) power supply to consumers does not have this essence. There are three innovations in BIPS-BASERES which create effect of competitiveness to CPS: 1. The binary state of the electric power system. 2. The special windpower unit designs (WWEU) which transform the whirlwind energy into useful electrical energy. 3. The special control technologies for BIPS. These innovations creates a systemic technical and economic effects. 2. TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT. • The binary state of the electric power system Generator Fig. 1 shows how the electrical power grid is organized for binary state of current. By binary state of the electrical power grid we call the its possibility to production both AC and DC. The electrical power grid with binary state of an electric current creates the following technical effects: – Any quantity of the typical energy units for RES transform may be connected to binary electric power system without necessity to its synchronization; – BIPS is a modular system: typical energy units ties up by complex of typical energy equipment which are made as typical blocks and modules; The technical effects which were set forth above creates a line of organizational and economic benefits: – it is possible to organize a large-scale production of the blocks and modules (in framework of 3-5 type standard sizes in the production line) which would reduce production costs in comparison with small-scale – it is possible to purchase a grid’s components by large wholesale quantities for production, that will allow to reduce procurement prices from the manufacturer up to 20-40 %; • The special windpower unit designs (WWEU) which transform the whirlwind energy into useful electrical energy. Whirlwind energy unit (WWEU). WWEU is a special design of the wind energy unit (WEU) for common work with BIPS. WWEU converts the energy of the moving air mass into the whirlwind energy with a high density of kinetic energy and sends this energy to drive of the generator. In basic it looks so (see Fig. 2): This way of obtaining electricity from the energy of moving air masses creates the following technical effects: - in real conditions of work at the same wind speed and under identical mass-dimensional parameters the power capacity on generator of the WWEU will be in 20 times higher in comparison with traditional wind turbines (see Fig. 3); - the nominal mode of generation for WWEU is under wind speed - 3 m / s, instead 10-12m/s, as happens in traditional WEU (see Fig. 3); - the nominal generation mode is supported on WWEI at any wind speeds, including hurricanes, starting with a 3 m / s or, for example from 5 m / s, as it shown at Fig. 3;. - WWEU will be able to operation in a nominal mode of generation about 8000 hours per year; The technical effects which were set forth above creates a line of organizational and economic benefits: – the installation costs of the WWEU are significantly reduced because WWEU can be mounted directly on the ground. Such installation of the WWEU would not require masts and, accordingly, would not require a preparation of special foundations; – production of electric power from 1 kW of installed capacity at WWEI higher in the 4-10 times than traditional wind turbines(depending on wind conditions). By this circumstance is determined the reducing of the electricity cost for consumers which are connected to the binary grid. • The special control technologies for BIPS. The special BIPS control technologies ensures full automatic operation of the all physical and technological processes when BIPS is working. Special BIPS control technologies creates the following technical effects: – automatically supports a power balance in BIPS without different kinds of ballast loads; – guarantee a uninterrupted power supply to consumer; – consumer has energy onle from WWEU without energy storage in batteries; – BIPS has only buffer energy into batteries to ensure a processes of transient period. Electrical volume of batteries in the BIPS will be not more than 5% concerning traditional technical solutions . The technical effects which were set forth above creates a line of organizational and economic benefits: - there is no need for expenditure to installation of the ballast loads; - there is no need for expenditure to installation of the accumulators, which may be up to 50% of the full cost for independent electrical power system; • Energy Efficiency Factor (EEF) for BIPS Energy Efficiency Factor (EEF) - is ratio of the RES energy which is produced during the year by 1 kW of installed power generation to the cost of 1 kW of installed capacity in the whole energy system. EEF for BIPS - 1,21 For comparison: 1. For wind-diesel complex EEF - 0,25 2. For hybrid systems EEF - 0,15 Thus, the efficiency of the project BIPS is in 5-8 times higher, than it is for all existing analogs which capable to create an independent electrical power system.
